Trip #3- Higashi-Matsushima, Ishinomaki, Onagawa 旅＃３- 東松島、石巻、女川

Today was a full day of blessings and surprises for the team as we traveled into new areas and also familiar areas that had undergone some changes in the last week.

先週から少し変化が見られる見慣れた地域と、新しい地域を訪れ、私たちチームにとって今日は大きな驚きと祝福の日でした．

The biggest change to the Sendai area was that the gasoline supply has returned in full force- we have not yet seen any lines of cars waiting for gas...what a relief to the people here! This of course has resulted in increased traffic almost everywhere. There is also a big increase in gasoline available in the Ishinomaki area, praise the Lord!

仙台地方での一番の大きな変化は、ガソリンの供給が回復してきたことです。今回の旅ではまだ一度も、ガソリンを給油するために列を作っている車を見ていません。　ここの人々にとってなんという安心でしょう。これにより、あらゆる場所で起きていた渋滞が緩和されました。また石巻地方のたくさんのガソリンスタンドは、利用可能になりました。主に感謝です！

The second biggest change is the increase in many forms of relief and support to the people here. We have already seen many more earth moving machines beginning the immense task of cleaning up. Even more importantly, we have met more groups and organizations who are reaching out directly to the tsunami victims, meeting physical needs and in some cases even spiritual needs! Here are some examples below, and also look to the right for new videos posted of this trip.

二番目に大きい変化は、ここの人々へのいろんな形での救済と支援の増加です。地震による大量のがらくたを片付けなければならないため、たくさんの大型ブルドーザーを見かけます。さらに重要なことは、津波に襲われた被災者の方々のため、物質的必要に応じ、あるケースでは霊的な必要に応じている、私たち以外の群れや組織に出会いました！以下がある実例です。またこのサイトの右部分に、この旅の新しいビデオを公表しましたので是非見てください。

In the town of Higashi-Matsushima, the team linked up with another Calvary Chapel team at an evacuee center of about 100 people, including many children. Here, Pastor Travis and Richey from CC Tokorozawa and Pastor Bill from Hawaii chat with a few of the kids. Also on hand at the center was a Japan Ground Self Defense Force team providing hot lunch, water, and hot water for baths for the people. However, at this time this center is not yet receiving other supplies from relief agencies, so it was a blessing to offer them clothing items and other supplies. It was also a wonderful chance to link up with another Calvary team who shares the same vision of reaching the least of the least in the disaster zones.

東松島では、たくさんの子供を含め１００人位いる避難所で、他のカルバリーチャペルのチームと合流しました。ここで所沢のトラビス牧師とリッチー牧師や、ハワイからのビル牧師が何人かの子供たちと話していました。またその隣では、自衛隊のチームが、あたたかい昼食や水、風呂用のお湯を提供していました。しかし、この避難所はまだ救援部隊から物資を何も受け取っていませんでした。ですから、彼らに衣類や他の物資を提供できたのは祝福でした。またこの災害地でもっとも小さい者に手を差しのべるという、同じビジョンを持つ他のカルバリーチャペルのチームと合流できたことは、すばらしいことでした。

The flowers are beginning to bloom in Ishinomaki...hope among the despair, beauty in the midst of disaster. In the background the team is handing out relief supplies next to another team of volunteers from a college who is giving food to the neighborhood residents, many of whom come from the multi-story apartment buildings in the back. The site we had used in the past for these kind of outreaches is no longer available, and this site was a surprise blessing. Our groups' combined supplies complimented each other perfectly, and the Lord gave us chances to share our tracts and books with the Gospel message to those who gratefully received our supplies. We pray that the seed of the Gospel will soon bloom in these peoples' hearts like these flowers are blooming on the trees.

花々は、石巻で咲き始めています.….。この絶望の真ん中で、美しい花が咲きますように。後ろでは大学生ボランティアが、写真の中の後ろ側に写っているマンションから来ている近所の人々に、食べ物を配っています。その横で、私たちのチームは救援物資を配りました。私たちがかつてアウトリーチで使っていた敷地は、もう利用できなくなってしまいましたが、この場所を使えることは驚くほどの祝福です。お互いのグループで渡した物資に対して互いに敬意を表し、神は物資を喜んで受け取ってくれた人々に、福音と共にトラクトと本を分かち合うチャンスを私たちに与えてくださいました。この花々が木に実っているように、彼らの内にも福音の種が実りますよう祈ります。

It is a wonderful blessing to meet specific needs. Robert hands this lady a portable gas stove, some fuel, and with those packages a book presenting the saving truth of the Gospel.

一人一人にあった必要を満たすことができるのは、すばらしい祝福です。ロバートは救いのため福音の真理が書き記されている本の包みと一緒に、この女性に携帯できるガスコンロとその燃料を手渡しました。

It was truly a day of discovery for the team. Chihiro-san, right, talks to a man who had led a group of middle school students from a Christian school into Ishinomaki to hand out food, supplies, and spiritual encouragement to the grateful residents. It is very clear to us that part of the ongoing ministry in this area is to connect with other relief groups as the Lord leads and share our vision of reaching the lost for Christ, looking for unity and understanding wherever possible. This team appears to plan to be in area for some time, and it is very valuable for us to be aware of each other's efforts.

チームの皆にとって、たくさんの発見があった一日でした。右にいる千尋さんはある男性と話しています。彼は、クリスチャンスクールの中学生を引率し石巻に連れて来て、食べ物や物資、また霊的な励ましを住民の人々に届けていました。この地域でミニストリーをすることは、キリストのため失われた者に手を差しのべるというビジョンを分かち合い、できる限りの一致と理解を求めて、他の救援チームとつながることであったのは明らかでした。このチームは、この地域にいつか足を運ぶことを計画していたようでした。他のチームの努力する姿を見ることは、私たちにとってとても貴重なことでした。

Another group we served next to in Ishinomaki, not a Christian group but they are serving the people and that is a wonderful thing. Cultivating these relationships will only add to our ministry.

隣で支援していた違うグループ。クリスチャンではありませんでしたが、同じように支援していることはすばらしいことです。このような関係が耕されていくことは、ミニストリーにおいて非常にプラスになります。

This team, also called "JC" (but it does not stand for Jesus Community!), really got along well with us, and having a group picture at the end of the outreach event was a real blessing for everyone.

ＪＣと呼ばれるこのチーム（ジーザスコミﾕニティの略ではありません！）は、私たちと非常に意気投合しました。アウトリーチイベントのあとにグループ写真も撮ることができて、皆にとって祝福でした。

After Ishinomaki and with some daylight left, we traveled another 12 kms north to the town of Onagawa, our first time to survey the area. We were in for another surprise, as the damage here is very different from Ishinomaki or Sendai. Here, the entire town was pulverized, the tsunami reaching above 50 meters in height. If you zoom into this picture, you will see cars on top of buildings, as they were washed from the site where the picture was taken which is a hospital parking lot, and then swept over there to come to rest on top of the buildings as the waters receded. Pictures fail and it is hard to put into words the experience of witnessing such terrible destruction first-hand.

石巻で日が沈んできたころに初めて訪れる１２キロ西方面にある町、女川に行きました。石巻や仙台とは、全く違う損害を受けていることに驚かされました。ここ女川は全地域が崩壊していて、津波は５０メートルの高さまで上がりました。この写真をズームしてみるとわかると思いますが、車がビルの上に乗っかっています。この写真が撮られたこの場所、病院の駐車場から車の持ち主は流されてしまい、水が引いたときには、車はこのビルの上に持ち上げられていました。写真ではなおさらのこと、この恐るべき破壊的状態を直接言葉にすることはできません。

Same vantage point, different view of the destruction in Onagawa. There are large evacuee centers in this area, and there are also some surviving homes on higher ground, but most of the population is gone, either dead or evacuated, and when will the evacuees return? The future is not certain for them, which is why it is so important for them to hear the saving truth of the love of Jesus Christ!
同じ場所から撮った、おながわの破壊された違う景色。避難所や流されなかった家があります。しかし人影は全くありません。死んだのか避難しているのかいずれにしても、いつ避難民は戻るのでしょうか？将来は、彼らにとって不確かなものです。イエスキリストの愛と真実の救いの情報を聞くくことは、彼らにとって何よりも重要です！

As we continue to pray for wisdom and guidance for how to best serve the needs of the Tohoku region people, we understand that physical needs will continue to shift as recovery continues, but the spiritual need to know Christ as Lord and Savior will always be there for the people of Japan. Please continue to pray for them and for Calvary Tohoku Relief as we seek out the Lord's will for His ministry here. See you tomorrow! God bless you.

Trip #3- Arrival 到着

Hello again in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Trip 3 is underway in the Tohoku region, just wanted to post a quick update to announce our arrival.
イエスキリストの御名によって、再びこんにちわ。東北地方での三回目の旅が始まりました。只今、到着した事をお知らせするため短く更新します。

We arrived in Sendai late Monday night to a wonderful house, provided under special arrangement with a local church. We are overwhelmed with the blessing of having such a wonderful place to stay, and are so encouraged for the coming week.

月曜の夜遅くに、教会の隣に特別に配置されたこの大きな家にたどり着きました。こんなにすばらしい場所に滞在する事ができるこの祝福に圧倒されています。これから来る一週間も期待でいっぱいです。

We look to the Lord to guide our every step this week as we reach out to the people of the Tohoku area. Thank you for your　continued prayers, they are truly felt!

今週も東北地方の人々と交わる中で一つ一つのステップを導いて下さるように、神を見上げます。みなさんの祈りを心か感謝しています。祈りがどれだけ支えになっているかを実感しています！

The 2nd Trip - Day 4: Impressions 2度目の旅 4日目：印象

Thursday was our final day in the Tohoku area. Before we left, we had a chance to pray with the church that so graciously hosted us. Yoshiki Bell, the youngest member of our group, had to say good bye to new friends, but LORD willing, they will keep in touch and see one another again.
木曜日。ついに東北地方で時間を過ごす最終日となりました。仙台を去る前に、親切にもてなしてくださった教会の方々と、共に祈る機会が与えられました。私たちのグループのメンバーのよしきくんは、教会で新しい友達ができ、神のチャンスがあればまた会える事を願いながら、別れを告げました。

Pastor Jack Bell from Calvary Chapel Kamakura spent the drive home reflecting on the week's events. Here are some of his impressions on the trip to Ishinomaki.

カルバリチャペル鎌倉の牧師、ジャック•ベルは、仙台からの帰り道に、この一週間を振り返りながら語ってくれました。以下が石巻に行った時の、彼の感想です。

"Like most people I watched the video clips of the tsunami taken as it was happening and saw the cars bobbing on water and houses being swept up in the current. It was like watching a movie with very realistic special affects. To see the place firsthand though, made a whole new impression on me.
「ほとんどの人が見たように、私も津波による影響で車が水に流され、家々が急流によりいとも簡単に押し流されている、その瞬間の映像を見ました。今回ここで目にした事は、あたかも、非常に生々しい映画を見ているようでした。その場所を何回見ても、私は新しい印象を毎回心に刻まれました。

The area is devastated. Many places look like landfills full of debris and tree trunks mixed with cars and boats scattered around. There is a damp, pervasive odor and gritty mud that seems to cover everything.
この町は破滅状態でした。この埋め立て地は、辺り一面に壊れた車、ボートと一緒くたになっている、がらくたや木の幹で積み重なっていました。また、湿気や蔓延している悪臭、ほこりっぽい土で町全体が覆われていました。

In the time that I have lived in Japan I have grown accustomed to the orderliness of the society. The people are very self sufficient, taking meticulous care of their belongings. Everything is kept in order and is always very, very clean. They never seem to be in need of anything. To see these people standing in line to get basic necessities was such a contrast from the norm.
私は今まで日本に住んできた期間、日本の整然とした社会に慣れ育ちました。人々は、自給自足できる環境にあり、持ち物を丁寧に管理しています。全てに秩序があり、清潔感に溢れています。その中で、何かこれ以上必要なものがあるようには思えません。基本的必要な物を求めて、列を作っている人々の姿は、普段と全く異なる光景を表しています。

Even before we arrived to set up shop in the Seven Eleven parking lot the people were gathering. We let people into our "store" to pick out 5 items each. Hannah played worship and there was a real sense if the peace of the Lord. It felt good to be able to minister to people and help meet their immediate needs. To give a coat to someone who is shivering and see someone delighted just to get a pair of gloves.
私たちがセブンイレブンの駐車場にお店を広げる前から、すでにたくさんの人が集まっていました。人々を「お店」に入れ、１人５品までの物資を渡しました。はんなさんはそこで賛美をしました。その場所に神の平安を感じました。彼らに仕えられる事、また彼らの今の必要を満たすために手伝えることは、とても喜びでした。寒さに身震いしている人にコートを与えること、また手袋を受け取り喜んでいる人を見ること…。

We are aware that their greatest need is spiritual. They need Jesus. We are praying that God would open their hearts to Him that they would be able to see their need for a Savior. That they would read the tracts and New Testaments that we gave them.
彼らの真の必要は霊の領域にあるという事に、私たちは気づかされました。彼らにはイエスキリストが必要です。神が彼らの心を開き、救い主の必要を知ることができるように、また私たちが配ったトラクトや新約聖書を読むように、私たちは祈っています。

As God is using us to reach out in love to meet their physical needs there is a great opportunity to lead them to Jesus. Just as Jesus had His disciples feed the 5000 and then He taught them that He is the Bread of Life. Please pray for the people in Ishinomaki.
彼らの物質的な必要に応えるため、愛をもって彼らに近づく私たちを神がお使いになるとき、そこにはイエスキリストに人々を導く素晴らしいチャンスがあります。それは、ちょうどイエスが弟子たちに、５０００人に食べ物を与えるよう、また、ご自分がいのちのパンだと教えたときのことのようです。どうか石巻の人々のために祈って下さい。"

The Second Trip - Day 3: Meeting the Immediate Needs

The people in Ishinomaki are without water, gas or electricity.

石巻の人々には水やガスや電気もありません。

Telephones are still out as well as cellular service.

固定電話も携帯電話もつながりません。

Neighborhoods look like war zones in this post-tsunami world.

津波の被害の遭った一帯は戦場のようでした。

Today, the team parked the van and hit the pavement.

今日、チームは車を停めて道路に歩きました。

We walked through the streets inviting everyone we could find to an outreach event planned for Wednesday afternoon.

私たちは道で出会ったすべての人を、水曜日の午後に予定されていたアウトリーチイベントに招待しました。

Along the way, we met so many people trying to pick of the pieces of what they once called home.

道々、多くの人々が以前「家」と言われていた場所から、思い出の品を拾っていました。

This man said he used to live right here on the corner, but no signs of a home even standing in this location can be found; even the foundation is gone.

この男性は、かつてこの場所に住んでいたそうです。その場所にいるのに家が跡形もなく、家の土台すらなくなってしまっています。

In addition to an insurmountable amount of debris and rubble, the smell of dead fish invades the air.

数えられないほどのがれきや破片だけでなく、死んだ魚の臭いが空気中に漂っています。

Continuing on down the road, we saw a house still standing that surprisingly looked like it was OK.

歩き続けていると、驚くほど被害のないように見える家がありました。

If you look closely, you can see just how high the water rose by the lines left on the house. The top line just above the brown border around the house is the height the water reached initially. The lower mark at the bottom of the first story windows is where the water level remained until the flood waters receded. The home belongs to the Kawanami family. They purchased the house brand new 9 years ago. Although damage looked minimal from the outside, the inside was destroyed.

よく見ると家の壁に残っている線で、水がどのくらいの高さまであったのかがわかります。茶色の壁の少し上にある線が、一番高い水位だった高さで、津波に襲われた当初の高さです。1階の窓の下の線は津波の後、水が残っていた高さです。この家はカワナミさんのご家族のもので9年前に新築だったものを買ったそうです。外からは、ダメージは最小にとどめられたように見えますが、家の中は破壊されていました。

Mr. Kawanami graciously invited us in to show us the damage. The tsunami left behind deposits of sand and mud on both levels of the house.

カワナミさんは、私たちに破壊の後を見せるために快く招待してくれました。津波によって外の壁に残った線と同じ高さまで、砂や泥が流れ込んでいました。

Mr. Kawanami's favorite pastime is raising Bonzai trees. The tree he's holding is 20 years old.

カワナミさんは盆栽が趣味でした。彼が持っている木は20歳になります。

Even though they weren't washed away, he said they will soon die due to the effects of salt water.

流されずに残った盆栽も、塩水の影響ですぐに死んでしまうそうです。

As they continued to talk, Mr. Kawanami shared how he has no words. When he opens his mouth to speak, all that comes out is a sigh. He has worked hard his whole life to establish his home, and now it's gone. To add insult to injury, his bicycle that he had salvaged from the rubble and was using for transportation, was recently stolen from his backyard. Pastor Chizuo then asked if he could pray with him. Without any resistance and a soft heart, he said yes. We were also able to pray with his wife and she hugged us with tears in her eyes and said thank you.

途中から、カワナミさんは言葉が出てきませんでした。口を開く度に出てくるのは溜息ばかりでした。カワシマさんが懸命に働き、建てた家はもう今はありません。屈辱の痛みに加え、今まで交通機関として使っていた、またがれきの中から見つけだした自転車は、つい最近裏庭から盗まれてしまいました。知主夫さんはカワシマさんのために「祈っても良いですか。」と聞くと、なんの抵抗もなく喜んで「はい」と言ってくれました。私たちは、彼の奥さんとも祈ることができました。彼女は目に涙を浮かべながら私たちを抱きしめ「ありがとう」と言ってくれました。

When we arrived at the outreach location in order to set up, we were stunned to find around two hundred people patiently waiting for us... ALREADY IN A LINE!!!

物資を並べるためにアウトリーチの場所に着いた時、もうすでに２００人以上の人たちが列を作って待っていたのです！私たちは非常に驚きました。

We worked fast to set out the boxes of jackets, pants, socks, noodles, diapers, etc.

まずはジャケットやズボン、靴下、カップ麺、オムツ等々の段ボール箱から置いていきました。

Each person was able to take 5 items of their choosing.

１人５品を選んで持ち帰ることができました。

Since we had 5,000 loaves of bread to give away, there was no limit on the amount each person could take home.

パンは５０００個もあったので、皆に好きなだけ取ることができました。

Hannah Sakurai sang worship music for the entire duration of the outreach. The music definitely set the tone of the event and gave us room to approach and talk to people with ease.

桜井はんなさんは、アウトリーチの間中、賛美をしました。賛美は確かにその場の雰囲気を和ませ、人々に心安く近づいて話せる余裕を作り出しました。

Kids read Christian manga while waiting in line and Joseph brought out his "Dochi Ooki" card trick to put smiles on faces and help pass the time. We had 300 Bibles with us to give away. Unfortunately, we ran out less than half way through the outreach!

子供たちは列に並んでいる間、聖書マンガを読んだり、ジョセフさんが子供たちに “どっちが大きい?マジックカード”を披露し、笑わせたりして時間を過ごしました。 私たちが用意していた３００冊もの聖書は、残念な事に半分の時間も過ぎないうちに配り終えてしまいました。

While passing out cups of tea, Pastor Chizuo took the opportunity to talk with the people and get updated on their current needs.

お茶を配っている間、知主夫さんは来てくれた人たちと話し、彼らが、今なにを必要としているかを聞く事ができました。

Pastor Chizuo met this boy last week when he first set up a make shift store in this 7-Eleven parking lot. The boy arrived late and everything had been given away. Pastor Chizuo had a personal lantern that he brought with him from home. It was a gift from his family... and he had no plans on giving it up. However, when he saw that the boy had received nothing, the LORD began to tug at his heart and reminded him of the lantern he had in the back of the truck. The boy asked when Pastor Chizuo would be back. "Next week, " Pastor Chizuo replied. "What day next week?" said the boy. "Do you have a cell phone, I'll call you." "No, they don't work,” said the boy. Realizing once again how devastated this area is, Pastor Chizuo went to the back of the truck and handed the boy the lantern. "I'll be back next week some time. Pray that we will be able to meet again." The kid's face lit up!

私たちが先週初めて、セブンイレブンの前で緊急物資を配った日、知主夫さんはある男の子に出会いました。男の子は遅れて来て何ももらう事ができなかったので、知主夫さんは、個人的に家から持って来たランタンを彼にあげました。そのランタンは教会の方からもらった物で、誰にもあげる予定などなかったのですが...。しかし、何ももらえなかった男の子の姿を見て、主が知主夫さんにトラックの後ろに置いてあったランタンを思い起こさせました。また、いつ戻って来るのかと聞かれ「来週だよ」と答えると、「来週のいつ？」と聞かれ「携帯は持っている？いつ来るか連絡してあげるよ」と再び答えたら、彼は「今携帯はつながらない」と言いました。この地域がどれだけ荒廃しているか再び思い起こされ、トラックの中からランタンを取りだし彼に渡しました。「また来週のいつかに来るよ。会うことができるように祈っていてね。」と伝えたら男の子の顔は明るくなりました。

This week, the boy heard about the outreach and was able to join us! Pastor Chizuo asked him if he wanted to help and he said yes. We put him to work and a few hours later, his family came looking for him. When they arrived, they told Pastor Chizuo that the lantern has been so helpful since they have no electricity and it's the only light they have after dark. Pastor Chizuo told them he had something else to give them. He had been praying that he would see the boy again and had brought a propane stove along with some meat for the boy and his family. They were overjoyed to say the least.

今週もまた、その男の子はアウトリーチのことを聞き、参加することができました。知主夫さんが「手伝いたいかどうか」を聞いてみると、「手伝いたい」と言ったのでやってもらいました。約２，３時間後に両親が彼を探しにやって来ました。家に全く電気がない中、このランタンが地震後に久しぶりに家を照らしてくれた唯一の光であり、このランタンのおかげでどれだけ助かっているかを語ってくれました。知主夫さんは、他にも渡すものがあると彼らに言いました。知主夫さんは、またこの男の子に出会えるよう祈っていて、彼と彼の家族のために食べ物と一緒にプロパンのガス台を持ってきていました。彼らは控え目ながらも、大喜びしていました。

In addition to reaching out to the people of Ishinomaki, Pastor Chizuo was also able to reach within the local church and encourage two young men, Kenji and Toru. Pastor Chizuo met them during his first trip to the Tohoku area and challenged them to stay involved in the relief efforts taking place around them. We were blessed to have them labor alongside us today.

石巻の人々に物資を配ったことに加え、ある教会にも行き、そこにいる２人の男の子、けんじくんととおるくんを励ます事もできました。２人とは、リリーフ活動第一回目の時に会い、次回リリーフ活動に参加し、一緒に働いてみることをチャレンジしました。彼らと共に働けたことは祝福でした。

十分に物資が与えられて神に感謝！

Once we cleaned up, we headed over to another church in order to greet them and deliver some bread we had set aside for their congregation.

片付けを終えて、私たちは他の教会に向かいました。あいさつを交わし、彼らのために用意しておいたパンを運びました。

We returned home late… smelling of fish, tired and dirty. Tuesday night, we closed our eyes and could see nothing but destruction. But tonight was different. When we close our eyes, we see the faces of those we met today. We see the smiles that crossed their faces as they encountered the love of Jesus. We close our eyes and see hope.

私たちは遅くに帰宅しました。...体は汚れて魚臭く、とても疲れていました。火曜の夜、寝て目を閉じたときは何も見えず、気が散るばかりでした。でも今夜は違いました。目を閉じる時、今日出会った一人一人の顔が思い浮かびました。キリストの愛に出会う人々の笑顔を見ました。そして私たちは希望を持って目を閉じました。

The 2nd Trip - Day 2: Meeting Needs in Ishinomaki / 2度目の旅 物資を必要とする石巻の人々との出会い

We drove up to the devastated area of Ishinomaki where rubble is everywhere. "It doesn't even look like Japan," Yoko said from the back seat. She's right. There are no words to describe the ruin we witnessed. Boats on streets, cars in water... a train car flipped and twisted on the side of the road without any train tracks in sight. Families who have chosen to return to what's left of their homes are now working hard to bring their living spaces back into living condition.

がれきが散乱する石巻の被災地に車で行きました。「ここが日本なんて全然思えない。」羊子が後部座席で言いました。その通りです。私たちが見た廃墟を言い表すことばはありません。道路に船、水の中に車…レールのないところにさかさまになってねじれた電車。被災後、残っている家に戻ることを決めた家族は、生活を取り戻すために一生懸命働いています。

One woman stood with tears telling us how everything happened so fast and life or death was decided within minutes. She ran from her home with nothing but the clothes on her back. As we opened the truck and handed her over a box of bread and other necessities, her eyes filled with tears again and she just smiled and said thank you. We told her that Jesus sees her hurt and the devastation. He knows the problems she's facing and He loves her so much that He's sending people across her path to help her. She wiped her tears and said, "Thank you, that gives me life."

ある女性が涙を流しながら、すべてがあっという間に起こり、数分で人の生死が決まったことを話してくれました。彼女は自宅から服だけを持って逃げました。私たちがトラックからパンが入った箱やその他の必要品を渡すと、彼女の目はまた涙でいっぱいになりました。そして微笑んでありがとうと言いました。私たちは、イエス様が彼女の傷や災害を見ておられることを伝えました。そして、神は彼女が直面している問題を知っておられ、彼女を助けるために人を遣わすほど彼女を愛しておられることを伝えました。「ありがとう。生きる希望が与えられました。」彼女は涙をぬぐってそう言いました。

The men of this family were busy cleaning as we drove down their street. The man in red was without a jacket and had doubled his shirts in order to stay warm. They humbly received jackets, socks, and undershirts as well as a Bible.

私たちが車で通りかかったとき、この家族の男性たちは家を片づけるのに忙しくしていました。赤い服を着ている男性はジャケットを持っておらず、暖かさを保つためにシャツを重ね着していました。彼らは謙虚にジャケットや靴下、下着そして聖書を受け取ってくれました。

As we were getting ready to leave the neighborhood where the men were working, another family member with a baby arrived. She was blessed to be greeted with a box of bread and diapers!

先ほどの男性たちが働いている地域を離れようとしていると、赤ちゃんを連れた別の家族が来ました。この女性は、パンが入った箱とおむつを受け取って祝福されました。

Through a network of friends, this couple's daughter heard that Pastor Chizuo was helping out in her family's area. She drove 90 minutes from her home in Yokohama to Pastor Chizuo's house in Tokyo in order to ask for help in delivering medicine, food and other necessities to her family. The team was able to deliver 3 huge boxes of food and supplies to them directly from their daughter! Although the daughter is a Christian, her parents and brother are not. Please pray for their salvation.

このご夫妻の娘さんが友人のつてで、知主夫さんが彼女の家族の住む地域で、救援活動をしていることを知りました。彼女は自分の住んでいる横浜から車で1時間半かけて、薬や食料やその他の必需品を届けてくれるよう、知主夫さん宅までお願いをしに来られました。チームは3つの大きな箱に詰められた食料や必需品を、彼女に代って届けることができました。彼女はクリスチャンですが、ご両親と兄弟はクリスチャンではありません。どうぞ彼らの救いのためにお祈りください。

This man is the leader of a community of about 500 people. Their small area was protected by a raised railroad track that served as a barrier from the force of the tsunami. Although most of their stuff was washed away, their houses are still standing. Please keep him in prayer as many are looking to him for leadership in this overwhelming situation.

この男性は、500人が生活する地域のリーダーです。小さな彼らの地域は、地面から盛り上げて造られた線路が津波を遮り守られました。彼らの多くのものは流されましたが、家は残りました。このような状況の中で、彼のリーダーシップを多くの人が期待していますので、彼を祈りに覚えてください。

It was incredible to witness how cultural barriers have been torn down in this time. As we went along today, many people were very open, very receptive and very thankful for the help they received. Amy hugged three ladies and couldn't believe the genuine hugs that she received in return. Japan is not an affectionate nation and one would never invade the personal space of someone they had just met. So, to have the opportunity to physically reach out to someone was incredibly special!

このような状況で、文化の壁が崩れていることは驚きでした。今日私たちが行った場所では、多くの人々が心を開いて、物事を受け入れようとしていて、彼らが受ける助けにとても感謝していました。エイミーは3人の女性を抱きしめましたが、彼女らが心から抱きしめ返してくれたことが信じられませんでした。多くの日本人は愛情を外側にあまり表わさない国民です。初めて会った人に対して、個人的な領域に踏み込ませることはしません。ですから体を寄せて愛を伝える機会は本当に特別でした！

Of course, this openness has come with a breaking and so we must continue to pray now more than ever for the Japanese people!

もちろん、彼女たちの行為は心の痛みが伴っているものです。ですから、これまで以上に日本人のために祈り続ける必要があります！
